All that lesbian drama got you down? Well I have some good news for you. Award-winning Spanish filmmaker Sonia Sebastian (De Chica en Chica) has teamed up with playwright Amy Dellagiarino and Lisa Cordileone (Easy Abby) to bring audiences, Freelancers Anonymous, a story about the foibles and successes of a lesbian in tech who quits her job to start her own company.
Cordileone stars as Billie, a woman who works a job she hates, and decides to quit (with three months until her wedding!) to start her own tech company, led by a team of women…and Larry. Her fiancée Gayle is played by the one and only Natasha Negovanlis (Carmilla, Almost Adults), and also features a fabulously talented cast including Alexandra Billings (Transparent), Jennifer Bartels (American Woman) with Mouzam Makkar (Champions) and Megan Cavanagh (A League of Their Own).
Freelancers Anonymous is a fast-paced comedy, with women at the helm, behind the scenes, and in front of the camera. The film will also use transmedia to tell more of the story and connect with audiences in multiple ways. The film just launched a Seed and Spark campaign to assist with post-production, marketing, and licensing. If you’d like to see this film hit the festival circuit and a screen near you, considered contributing.
