Five good (and gay) things that happened this week: 7/7-7/13

Happy Friday everyone. Hope you are staying cool in this heat wave. Here are some very good and gay things to start your weekend off right.

1. Emmy noms for lesbian, bi and queer women for days! This week the Emmy nominations were announced and there were a lot of our favs nominated including out actors Kate McKinnon, Samira Wiley, Lily Tomlin, Sarah Paulson, Ellen and more. 20gayteen strikes again in a good way.

2. Little Mix just dropped a video for Only You with a lady-love story at the center. If you love pop music  and lesbian mermaids, then you will want to see this video. Plus the song is a real bop.

3. Kate McKinnon shares her lack of tech savvy in this vid for Glamour. Ok so technically this came out last week, but I just heard about this yesterday. Your comedy crush Kate McKinnon was interviewed by Glamour Magazine about the last things on her phone and it’s a real trip.

4. Podcast lovers! Afroqueer is a new podcast you’ll want to check out. Here’s a teaser for a new podcast coming out this month. Here’s the description. “AfroQueer is an eight-episode narrative-driven podcast series about queer Africans living, loving, thriving, and surviving on the continent and in the diaspora.” It sounds absolutely amazing.

5. Out bi actress Stephanie Beatriz will be guest starring on One Day at a Time. Beatriz will be appearing on the beloved Netflix sitcom. According to TVLine, “Beatriz will play Penelope’s cousin Pilar, whom Elena is convinced is gay.” Yes.

    Amazing as always, Dana!
I’ve been a Mixer for a long time, and I’m so glad they have a MV with a queer storyline.
