Five good and gay things that happened this week: 5/3-5/10

Welcome back to Five Good and Gay Things! Apologies that there wasn’t an article last week, but I was in the middle of the ocean on a lesbian cruise, so hopefully you will forgive me. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas and mommis out there.

1. Vida gets a Season 2 trailer and release date. If you haven’t caught up with Vida on STARZ yet, then now’s your chance before Season 2 drops on May 23rd. You won’t regret it.

2. Batwoman gives us a tease. Everything is coming up Kate Kane lately, with Batwoman getting a series pick up on The CW and now with a sweet little teaser of Ruby Rose playing the titular super hero. Makes me want to get a cape.

3. Megan Rapinoe is the first openly gay woman to pose for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. USWNT star Megan Rapinoe graces the pages of the magazine’s famous yearly issue, and uses the platform to talk about the team’s campaign for equal pay and treatment.

4. Grunge punk band L7 is back with a new album and love for their lesbian fans. If you grew up in the 90s, then fierce rockers L7 may have played a part in your coming of age. The all-women band is back with a new album, Scatter the Rats, and discuss their queer fanbase in a new interview with Revolver.

5. Marvel will be revealing an openly gay character. Please let it be Captain Marvel!
