Five good (and gay) things that happened this week: 3/10-3/16

Happy Friday to all!

1. Jane the Virgin‘s Petra and JR seal the deal. Petra has finally met her match in lawyer JR (guest star Rosario Dawson). After crushing hard and a few false starts, the two women not only confessed their attraction, they took it all the way. Petra lied about having experience with a woman, but JR let her off the hook about that. Now if only the kidnappers would leave them alone!

2. Korrasami get immortalized. While it’s been a couple of years since Korra and Asami walked off into the sunset, err, spirit portal together, pop culture store Mondo just released news of a very nifty trinket for fans. This statuette featuring the couple holding hands and enjoying life together will be available in early 2019.

3. Wild Nights with Emily premieres at SXSW. This comedy (yes, comedy) about poet Emily Dickenson and starring Molly Shannon as the titular Emily, finally got a chance to play for audiences. Written and directed by Madeleine Olnek, the film takes a lighter look at Dickenson, and the relationship she is said to have had with her sister-in-law, Susan.

4. Queer Canadians are having a great week. Not only did actress Elise Bauman win a Canadian Screen Award this week, but it was announced that actress Zoie Palmer would be joining the Wynonna Earp cast in a guest role. AND Tegan and Sara will be receiving the prestigious National Arts Centre Award. Oh, Canada!

5. Carmilla producer Steph Ouaknine gets her skit on with comedian Cara Connors. Real life girlfriends Ouaknine and Connors get to ham it up together this week in a video for CBC Comedy. Watch the couple play a variety of couples and personalities you see during wedding season
