Five Good and Gay things that happened this week: 3/23-3/29

Happy Friday! This week 5GaGT has a new home and a new look on the Bella Media Channel. Let’s get our good and gay on.

Isabella Gomez and Hayley Kiyoko shared some selfie love. In One Day at a Time, Gomez’s character Elena refers to herself as Lesbian Jesus, but we all know who already holds that time. Lesbian pop star, Hayley Kiyoko. The two recently met in real life and gifted us these adorable pics to prove it.

Abby Wambach teamed up with Wildfang. Out soccer star Abby Wambach recently released a new inspirational book called Wolfpack, and she’s teamed up with queer clothier Wildfang on a t-shirt to support it. “Ain’t No Little Red” refers to a line Abby has said, “If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: You were never Little Red Riding Hood, you were always the Wolf.”

Abby’s, about an out bisexual woman who runs a bar in her backyard, premiered this week on NBC. The new Natalie Morales-led comedy dropped last night on NBC, and you can watch the pilot right here.

STARZ’s Vida picks up a GLAAD Award and a second season premiere date. The smart and sexy show Vida has a lot to celebrate this week. Not only did they get a season two premiere date (May 23) from their network STARZ, they also won the Outstanding Comedy Series award at the annual GLAAD Awards last night. Congrats, Vida!

Jane the Virgin is giving Petra and JR’s romance the love it deserves. The final season of Jane the Virgin premiered this week and the long-suffering (and at times insufferable) Petra is fighting for the love of her life, JR. Naturally, there’s drama in the first episode to drive a wedge between them, but I have a feeling these two are endgame.
