1. Wildfang debuted its new line of suiting and it includes plus sizes. This retailer has had out celebs like Kate Moenig and Evan Rachel Wood in their campaigns, and has been a fixture on lesbian and queer owned business lists since 2010. Their androgynous and very hip blazers, pants and jackets had up until now only come in average sizes, but this week they unveiled their new spring suiting line that includes sizes up to 20. Now plus size customers can get in on the fun.
2. You can now pre-order writer Tee Franklin and artist Jenn St. Onge’s Bingo Love for Valentine’s Day. This amazing love story between two women who find each other again after a romance in their teens is nearly here! You can order it now for yourself or someone you love, and it will be delivered to your Kindle in time for Valentine’s Day. You can also pick it up at Cosmixology or your favorite comic book store.
4. Charmed reboot to feature a lesbian lead! The intertubes have been all tingly with the news that the popular witchy show that ran from 1998-2006, is getting a reboot. It’s just been revealed that one of the three lead sisters will be a lesbian! According to TV Line, character Mel Pruit will be, “A strong-willed feminist, she feels deeply and is a bit controlling. Mel — who is in her mid 20s and a lesbian — is the sister of Madison. In the wake of a tragic accident, the grieving Mel becomes angry, defiantly unkempt, even violent, pushing away those who might help her, including her girlfriend, Detective Soo Jin. Mel’s power is time-freezing.” Yep, and she has a girlfriend.
5. The Olympics are here and queer! The Winter Olympics kick off this week in Pyeongchang, South Korea and there are a record number of out LGBTQ athletes for a winter games. This list includes out US speedskater, Brittany Bowe.
