Five good (and gay) things that happened this week: 2/24-3/2

Happy Friday to you and yours!

1. Gina Rodriguez to play Rosa’s girlfriend on Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Ok so there’s been no official confirmation from the show, but the intertubes went wild when B99 star Terry Crews posted a now deleted photo of Jane the Virgin star Rodriguez on set. Fans have been dreaming of Rodriguez guesting as bisexual police officer Rosa’s gf, and it looks like we might just get to see that happen.

2. Nafessa Williams to attend ClexaCon 2018. Exciting news from ClexaCon, with just a month to go. Black Lightning star Nafessa Williams, who plays lesbian superhero Thunder, will be attending the con!

3. Let it go, girl! Will Frozen‘s Elsa find a princess to warm her heart? While this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this possibility, Frozen 2‘s second co-director, Jennifer Lee, has now added her voice to the mix. In an interview with HuffPo, Lee says that conversations are always happening, and she lets Elsa’s character lead the way. To champion this idea, or share your thoughts, check out the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend hashtag started by activist Alexis Isabel. If it does indeed happen, and Elsa is revealed to be lesbian or bisexual, this would be a massive development in pop culture.

4. Janelle Monae has us swooning and dancing. In her newest video, musician and actress Janelle Monae had everyone screaming with her sexy and very queertastic video for “Make Me Feel” featuring actress Tessa Thompson.

5. Finland gives same-sex couples a huge win. Now in Finland, a child can have two legally recognized mothers as soon as they are born. This amendment to the Maternity Act means that the child’s other mother, who did not give birth, no longer has to go through the long process of adoption.
