Five good and gay things that happened this week: 11/16 – 11/22

Fans are flocking to Anne Lister’s home for gaycation. Anne Lister may have lived more than two hundred years ago, but she’s all the rage right now thanks to the HBO/BBC series, Gentleman Jack. Now lesbian tourists from around the world are adding Halifax and Shibden Hall to their holiday travel plans.

A lesbian couple reaches out to Ellen with a wedding wish, and Ellen responds. After Kate Austin tweeted out to Ellen that her parents would’t be attending her wedding to fiancee Sarah Sulsenti because they disapprove of Austin’s sexuality, Ellen invited the couple on her show. She gifted the couple $25,000 and a cardboard cutout that can stand in when needed at the wedding. Sulsenti also surprised everyone by proposing to Austin as well.

Hayley Kiyoko honored by The Trevor Project. The lesbian singer/songwriter received the LGBTQ teen suicide prevention organization’s Youth Innovator Award on Sunday night. Congrats, Hayley!

The L Word is gracing the cover of Advocate in anticipation of the series return. Stars and executive producers Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey and Kate Moennig talked with The Advocate about the groundbreaking show’s history and return on December 8th.

The trailer for Marvel’s Runaways third and final season dropped. Ok so it’s sad news to lose Runaways on Hulu, but there’s talk of the show returning to Disney+ so we’ll have to keep our fingers’ crossed. In other news, this season looks pretty epic.
