Five good and gay things that happened this week: 1/19-1/25

Happy Friday! Wishing you a warm and wonderful weekend.

1. Kate Moennig guest starred on Freeform’s grown-ish as a gender studies professor.  As Jonathan Van Ness would say, “can you believe?” Talk about swoon city.

2. The GLAAD Media nominations are out and feature some of your favs. The media watchdog’s annual GLAAD Award nominations were announced today and include nods to Wynonna Earp, Black Lightning, One Day at a Time, and more. Here’s the full list of nominees.

3. Anyone But Me‘s Tenth Anniversary special is now on Hulu. If you loved the ground-breaking webseries starring Rachel Hip Flores and Nicole Pacent, then you’ll want to check out this special.

4. The Favourite scores 10 Oscar nominations. Wowsers, the period piece that involves a lesbian love triangle and power plays aplenty, picked up award nods in every major catagory, including all three leads.

5. Broad City‘s final season will have art imitating life. Actress and co-creator of Broad City, Abbi Jacobson, has been exploring her queerness, and has brought that into her character’s life too. Just as Jacobson was in her first relationship with a woman, we’ll see her character Abbi do the same. What will Ilana think!?
